File Storage


The iCollections File Storage is the folder where Collection items are stored. The location of the File Storage is set at the first launch in the wizard window. Later the Storage can be moved or switched to different location. By default the Storage is located in your Documents folder or Home folder (if Documents folder is in iCloud). Good Storage location is in your local disk in a folder which is not shared to the Internet (Google Drive folder or iCloud are not good locations because of performance reason and synchronization issues).

Reveal File Storage location in the Finder.

It is possible to have multiple Storages and switch between them. After switching the Storage all your current Collections will be replaced by a new set read from the new Storage. To switch the Storage select iCollections Storage -> Switch from the main iCollections menu.

You can also move the Storage to a different location. After moving all your items in Collections will be moved to the new location. To move the Storage select iCollections Storage -> Move from the main iCollections menu.
