Copy and share Collections


Copy Collections to another Mac.
This method will copy only Collections (not Folder Views, Disk Panels, etc). If your Collections contain aliases to files and folders, the destination (referenced) files and folders will not be copied.

On your source Mac:
1. From the main iCollections menu select iCollections Storage -> Show in Finder:


2. Right click on the revealed folder (Storage) and select "Compress":


3. Copy the compressed file to the destination Mac to the Home folder. You can use a pendrive or iCloud drive to send the file to the destination computer.

On your destination Mac:
4. Quit iCollections.
5. Double click on the copied file to uncompress it.
6. Launch iCollections.
7. From the main iCollections menu select iCollections Storage -> Switch:


8. Navigate to the uncompressed folder, select it and press "Switch here":
iCollections will restart and open with the new set of Collections.

Share your Collections using iCloud or any Internet drive.
This method will share only Collections (not Folder Views, Disk Panels, etc). Use this method if you want access your Collections from multiple computers. This method moves the Storage to Internet drive (eg. iCloud) which can cause Collections to refresh slowly and not immediately after changes (depends on the drive synchronization speed).

To share your Collections and make them visible from other devices move the Storage to any cloud drive (iCloud, Google Drive, etc):

1. Make sure the cloud drive is mounted and visible in the Finder
2. From the main iCollections menu choose iCollections Storage -> Move
3. Select the cloud drive
4. Press "Move here" button

After the drive synchronize all the Storage, you can attach to it from another computer:

1. Make sure the cloud drive is mounted and visible in the Finder
2. From the main iCollections menu choose iCollections Storage -> Switch
3. Select the Storage on the cloud drive
4. Click "Switch here: button

iCollections will restart and open with the new set of Collections.
