Collection


Collection is the main type of iCollections windows.

Collection is the main type of iCollections windows. The Collection keeps user files and folders in the Storage. Files and folders structure is identical as file structure in the Finder. You can always reveal location of any item in the Finder. Also the Collection location can be displayed in the Finder window.

Revealing item in default file browser by right-clicking on the item. Another method is to double-click on the item with Cmd key pressed (Cmd+double-click) or Cmd+click if Single Click mode is on.

In addition to the context menu, items also have quick menu. To access quick item's menu - option+click (alt+click) on the item (file):
Folders have a separate quick menu:


The quick menu for files and folders can be changed in the Settings/Actions
Items in a Collection can show:
- activity indicator (when the application is launched)
- version number / file size on the item icon
- version number / file size in the filename

Item indicators can be turned on / off in the Collection menu -> View.
You can also drag items from the Finder or from iCollections onto iCollections items (applications or folders). For example, if you want to open TextEdit with a document, drag the document onto the TextEdit app:

If for some reason you would like to open a new instance of the application, hold down the Alt key while dragging an item on the application:
In the example above, the second instance of Scherlokk will be opened with the "PSD" folder.
